This plant is located in Rybnik, Silesia in South Western Poland. With the opening of the new high speed panel line in May 2008, the Rybnik plant is now achieving an average output of 10,000 radiators per day and is not just the largest contributor to the Rettig 33mm platform but has become the single largest plant within Rettig ICC.
The manufacturing site itself covers 75,000m² of terrain including 46,000m² of production halls, warehouses and administration buildings. Today, there are three welding lines, two painting and packaging lines in Rybnik. Other production halls are homes to the manufacture of insulation for underfloor heating, side and top panels.
But it was not always like this in Rybnik. Production of panel radiators began here at the beginning of 1970 in another political and historical era. Radiator manufacturing was effectively a “department” of a large steel company founded in the middle of XVIII century. In 1993 this “department” was bought by Oy Rettig Ab who transferred the plant to the Rettig Heating division and production of Purmo radiators was able to start one year later. Of course investments have grown substantially over the years with the addition of new capacity and faster lines. The last investment program included the new LEAS welding line and was partly covered by grants received from the European Union.
Today, the Rybnik plant exports product to all corners of Eastern and Western Europe together with the biggest Asian markets such as China. The product range manufactured is one of the broadest and covers compact, integrated and flat-fronted Purmo panel radiators together with underfloor heating.
Quality remains the highest priority at all times within the production and distribution process. This requirement covers the quality of selected materials, process technologies and detailed testing procedures. Maintenance of the highest quality standards has enabled certification to ISO9001 and ISO14001 and also males possible a 10 year guarantee for Purmo products. In fact, the quality, reliability and efficiency of the Rybnik plant provided a backbone to the development of the steel panel market in Poland, whereby the Purmo brand has not just become the market leader in Poland but also a leading force throughout the whole of Eastern Europe.
